Teens – Diagnostics and Treatment Plan

Treatment with Special Sensitivity

Before the gentle and sensitive therapy, we draw up the appropriate treatment plan, ask the attending dentist for any preliminary work, take impressions, X-rays and photos of the bite and we register the jaw joint position, if necessary. Since adolescents usually attach great importance to be treated as inconspicuously or even as invisibly as possible, we offer them tooth-colored brackets, lingual brackets or INVISALIGN®. We would be happy to advise you on your individual possibilities. When the active treatment phase has been completed and an optimal result has also been achieved, retention plates provide the necessary stability. In order to consolidate the result sustainably and prevent a relapse, the use of a lingual retainer sometimes makes sense. For more information, visit www.hot-smile.de.

Details About Reimbursement:

Privately insured
In many private insurance companies, orthodontic treatment of children and adolescents is part of the scope of services. On a case-by-case basis, you should address your health insurance or submit a treatment and cost schedule for approval.
If you are eligible to benefit, you will receive only a limited reimbursement.

KIG
For several years now, public health insurance companies have introduced the orthodontic indication group system, or KIG for short. The KIG prescribes whether and to what extent orthodontic treatment is eligible for children and adolescents. Once the requirements have been met, health insurance will cover the costs of appropriate treatment. In this “standard treatment,” the optimal criteria of functional and modern orthodontics are not always met. The regulation of the KIG has nothing to do with the individual need for treatment, but is only intended to save costs for the public health insurance fund.
